It comes with an original leather sling that is lion-crested and 1937 dated. The late Mauser rifle collector/expert John Wall stated that this rifle was on the only unmodified VZ24 he had ever seen. There is one dark area of discoloration on the left side of the stock. There are a few handling marks, especially on the barrel and front barrel band and a noticeable scratch on the floor plate. The original rust blue finish on the receiver is exceptional, with the internal bolt rails and chamber in the correct “white” finish. Most of the Czech rifles were reworked and reused by the Germans, but this remains unmodified as originally issued just prior to the German occupation of the Sudetenland.
